On February 9, 2022, California’s governor signed Senate Bill (SB) 114. The law takes effect immediately and is retroactive to January 1, 2022, but an employer’s obligation to provide 2022 COVID-19 supplemental California supplemental paid sick leave (SPSL) does not begin until 10 days after the date of enactment (February 19, 2022).
