Q. Is there a quick resource to decipher what the claims adjuster is talking about with my Workers’ Compensation claims?
A. It is often disconcerting to talk to claims adjuster about your employee’s Workers’ Compensation claim and after you hang up, you ask yourself, “What did she say???” The conversation was thick with acronyms and Workers’ Comp lingo.
Here is a quick glossary of term that helps you to interpret the Workers’ Comp lingo spoken by an adjuster.
When you are having a conversation with the claim’s adjuster, don’t be embarrassed to stop the adjuster and ask, “What does that mean?”, or “When will that happen?”, or “What happens next?”
The Workers’ Compensation system is legislated and written in legalese. It’s OK if you do not understand the 3” thick California Labor Code and all of the rules, regulations and other complexities and deadlines of the delivery of Workers’ Comp benefits.
